Hello, I'm Jo Westfoot (she/her).

I am teaching "Rainbow Scrapbusting Baskets".

About Me

Jo Westfoot, the owner of The Crafty Nomad, has been sewing since she was a teenager and teaching for over 10 years. Her style is modern-traditional, incorporating a love of vibrant colours and bold designs. Her happy place is at the machine, free motion quilting! She is passionate about teaching a wide range of techniques to help others love their hobby more. She helps her students make progress by breaking things down into manageable chunks so it’s easier to learn.

You might be wondering why her business is called The Crafty Nomad? Her and the family lived overseas for over 10 years, and it was whilst living abroad that her love for crafting and sewing flourished, all thanks to some crafty friends and her hobby of craft blogging whilst away. Although now back in her home country, England, the business name has remained as it describes her worldly crafting journey well. Jo teaches classes and courses in her Online Sewing School and hosts a monthly learning membership club there for quilters, called The Quilt Hive! It’s full of patchwork & quilting classes and a lovely friendly worldwide community of quilters!

My Workshop

Are your fabric scrap bins overflowing? Do you wonder why you hang onto every last scrap of fabric? Even the tiny ones? Well, here's the thing, my scrap bins were overflowing too. I hate waste, and can't bear to bin beautiful fabric! But it got to the point where I could barely close the drawers, so I came up with a plan!

Join me in this 60 minute class to learn how to make a little circular basket using the Scrappy Quilt As You Go technique. By the end of the session you will know how to do scrappy quilt as you go, how to insert a circular base, and how to add binding.
These baskets are the perfect size to use for small notion storage or to hold a small pot plant.
