Mel Beach is a fun-loving mixed-media artist, teacher, and lecturer who loves to create through play, each and every day! Since 2020, Mel has been rolling the dice to successfully complete six 100-day projects along with several smaller projects. Dice rolling has helped Mel overcome design indecision, explore new sources of inspiration, experiment with different materials and techniques, produce a large body of artwork all while having loads of fun along the way!

Mel’s lectures and workshops are packed with plenty of fun & inspiration and appeal to traditional, modern, and art quilters alike. Her programs focus on free-motion quilting, modern improv design, art quilting, and surface design. Mel loves connecting with quilters all around the world via her open enrollment Zoom workshops, as well as programs geared towards quilt shops, guilds, and several larger venues including Craft Napa, Empty Spools Seminars, Online Quilt Festivals, Pacific International Quilt Festival, Road to California, Virtual Quilt Festival, and Virtual Quilt Show.

Mel has been featured on Quilting Arts TV (series 2500 and 2600) and The Quilt Show with Alex Anderson and Ricky Tims (episode 2808 and 2112) with numerous articles published with Quilting Arts Magazine, Curated Quilts, and The Craft Industry Alliance. Mel’s quilts have been juried into national quilt shows and traveling exhibits, published in books/magazines, earned awards/ribbons, and selected as Finalists.

My Workshop

You’ll leave with lots of ideas to create your own unique game plan to incorporate creative play into each day, all year long.
