Hello! I'm Susan Bunce, a Fashion Designer, Quilter, Pattern Maker, and teacher living in the suburbs of San Antonio, Texas.

When I'm not immersed in the world of fabrics and designs, you'll find me indulging in my love for reading and honing my skills in sewing and quilting.

With a rich background spanning over 35 years in the fashion industry, my journey began as a pattern maker, gradually evolving into the role of a clothing factory production manager. Every step in my career has contributed to the tapestry of my experience.

In the transformative year of 2020, I discovered a new love – English Paper Piecing. This delightful technique has found its way into my clothing and bag designs, adding unique and eye-catching pieced accents. It's amazing how a newfound passion can breathe fresh life into one's creations!

Beyond my personal pursuits, I'm fueled by a deep-seated passion for sharing knowledge. As a former adjunct faculty member of the Art Institute of San Antonio, teaching others the skills they need to follow their own creative paths is something that brings me immense joy. Whether it's guiding aspiring designers or helping fellow enthusiasts master the art of quilting, I believe in the power of sharing and nurturing creativity.

My Workshop

In my 60 minute workshop we'll go through the following steps in Adobe Illustrator.  

1. Creating basic shapes
2. Bring swatches into illustrator
3. Create a repeating pattern
4. Add swatches to your swatch library
5. Transform the swatch to follow the direction of the shape
